Producer and Co-Creator of Starhunter (2000), the 44-episode TV series, Daniel D'OR is recognized for producing quality feature films and television series for markets worldwide. He has an outstanding record of establishing long-term, profitable media companies in North America, including Canada's premier online post-production facility: Greystone Productions, which became a producing entity of substance under his leadership, involved in an impressive variety of television products.
He founded Ryan Helicopters a helicopter company specializing in aerial cinematography from aerial action work to the coverage of major sports events. He also created St. Lucia Helicopters which provided aerial construction, sightseeing adventures and search and rescue.
Dan also designed and implemented key interactive media technologies for Air Canada and Ontario Hydro, more than ten years before these became industry standards, now implemented worldwide.
He co-founded Spaceworks Entertainment team with his business partner 'G. Philip Jackson' with whom he has teamed up for production since 1993, through their companies PNA, Danforth Studios Ltd and Greystone Studios Inc, producing some 18 features as well as the three TV series under its banners. Recent titles include co-producing Icon's theatrical comedy _Wish You Were Dead (2000)_ (Mary Steenburgen Christopher Lloyd) and his original market concept which became the US syndicated, 66-episode series Starhunter (2000).
D'OR made his feature directing debut with the outer space drama, _Falling Fire (The CUSP)_, starring 'Michael Pare' a Showtime Network World Premier which went on to garner a Gold Award for Directing at WorldFest Charleston. It was the opening film at the Festival, as it was again as the sole preview screening for Media at the Festival International du Cinema Fantastique in Montreal. Dan also directed the UK segments of Starhunter.
His other producer credits include the cult favourite sci-fi feature, RepliKator with Ned Beatty, 'Michael St. Gerrard' (in which he directed and operated the camera during the film's three breathtaking helicopter chase scenes). He produced another cult favourite, the acclaimed virtual reality adventure Carver's Gate (Michael Pare) voted "Audience Favourite" at the Madrid International Film Festival, and opener of the "Midnight Madness" segment of the Atlantic Film Festival. He went on to produce many more commercially and critically successful sci-fi titles.
Daniel is a prolific Producer/Director with over 25 Feature Film and Television shows in his roster. Credits include 44 episodes of the sci-fi series, Starhunter; the reality series Fraud Squad, on which Daniel worked closely with the FBI to create a series depicting real-life fraud cases; the series Teens 101, created as a teaching tool for youth struggling with mental health or addiction problems; and the Emmy award-winning series Off the Beaten Palate, where Dan was the Director of Photography. Daniel has an outstanding record of establishing long-term, profitable media companies in North America and continues to find new and exciting ways of creating entertaining and educational media.
